D is a reluctant resident of United States. Despite being in the country for over 20 years she still struggles with homesickness. She finds solace in shopping, going out with friends and partying.

Since living in the Philippines is not an option right now I made a reluctant decision to live in this foreign country I now call home. I know that having a family I am stuck in this lonely planet where cultural differences and language barrier has always been a daily struggle.

Giving up a home I made myself in Cebu came as a bittersweet allegory. I am personally proud of my achievements, my lifestyle and friends that I had but family always comes first.  So here I am hopefully waiting for the day that I could call Philippines my home.
